About
Mithotyn was a Swedish Viking Metal band, whose lyrics were mostly about Scandinavian mythology and Viking themes.
The band was formed in 1992 under the name Cerberus, changing it to Mythotyn the following year. It was not until 1997 that they released their first album, In the Signs of The Ravens. The following year they would release King of The Distant Forest, which would become their most acclaimed album. Finally, Gathered Around the Oaken Table was released in 1999, year in which they disbanded and two of its members, Stefan Weinerhall and Karsten Larsson, formed the power metal band Falconer.
