Rough Silk is a German progressive metal and alternative rock band from Hanover. For its musical style, the band is inspired by the band Scorpions
The group was formed in 1989 in Hanover. Ferdy Doernberg was the one who started it all. He first worked with many artists (in particular Uli Jon Roth, ex-member of Scorpions). Jan Barnet (vocals, guitar), Ralf Shwertner (bass), Herbert Hartmann (drums) and Hilmer Staak (guitar vibraphone) will join him. He starts playing guitar and keyboards.
